The site is going to be dark today (or was on the date this was posted, depending on when you see it), along with many others across the Internet. We are a small site, but we strongly disagree with the legislation being considered in both houses of Congress right now. Both the Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act are serious threats to both the Internet as we know it and free speech in general. In our opinion, these bills do not pass Constitutional muster, and are a clear violation of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Hell, even Mike thinks so, and he’s Canadian.
At any rate, we feel it’s necessary to let it be known that we are against this legislation. We encourage those of you who are U.S. citizens to contact your Congressional representatives and Senators and tell them how you feel about this issue. The Internet is a weird, freaky, funny, scary, informative, convenient, great place. And we think it should stay that way.
